The City of Hobart voted on 20 May 2019 to adopt the City of Hobart Dog Management Strategy. Councils are required to review their Dog Management Strategies every five years in accordance with the Dog Control Act 2000.
Thank you Alderman Damon Thomas for moving the amendment to allow dogs to be exercised in Girrabong Play Park, Lenah Valley, for 9am - 7pm. Thank you to the Aldermen who supported this amendment.
The Hobart Dog Walking Association Inc thanks everyone who lodged submissions for both rounds of the Dog Management Strategy consultation particularly those who wrote in support of the shared arrangements for dog exercise on sports grounds when organised sporting competitions are not held.
