CCTV cameras for South Hobart Recreation Ground

The Hobart City Council has received complaints about the South Hobart Football Club in relation to litter.

The Council has advised the Hobart Dog Walking Association that:

The Council will be "writing to the South Hobart Football Club about issues raised by members of the community in relation to the South Hobart Football Club.

The Council has written to the Club to advise them of the allegations that have been made and have requested that they remind their players and members of their responsibilities. The Council's team have also been asked to monitor any excess litter or antisocial behaviour in the area.

Due to ongoing issues within the park, a CCTV camera will soon be installed to monitor and hopefully deter the ongoing vandalism that has occurred in the park which has seen the slide and a number of rubbish bins burnt.

The Council is also monitoring usage of the oval more closely and reminding all users of their responsibilities when using such a high profile community space."
